I set up Soil Monitoring Engineering in 1989 and have been manufacturing bespoke soil water suction sampling equipment ever since. I have both a doctorate and a masters in soil and water engineering from Cranfield University, where I was a member of the academic staff for many years. Alongside Soil Monitoring Engineering I run TGMS Ltd. which is one of the UK’s leading sports surface consultancy practices.
My products have been honed and refined over many years, and are used by water companies across the country, as well as by international clients. I founded the business in 1989 to help fund my PhD studies, and decided to continue running the business after receiving my doctorate as I had built up a strong customer base. Being an engineer, I am incredibly particular about the precision and quality of my manufacturing process. All products are manufactured and assembled by me at my workshop in Bedfordshire.
